Netflix releases movie on Panama Papers despite lawsuit

The Panama Papers were more than 11 million documents leaked which enlightened the world how the rich can hide their money.

Netflix has released a movie originated on Panama Papers despite an attempt by two lawyers to stop the premiere. “The Laundromat,” starring Gary Oldman,

Antonio Banderas and Meryl Streep, debuted on Netflix after a short release in theaters. Two lawyers from Panama, Jürgen Mossack and Ramón Fonseca, filed a case against Netflix in court this week, saying that the movie slandered their reputation and could open criminal cases against them. Netflix has called it a cheap “frivolous legal stunt” .

A judge said that this case shouldn’t have been filed in this Connecticut and eventually forward it to the Los Angeles court.

We just have to wait for the further improvement regarding the situation.
