Interpol provides Ishaq Dar clean chit, rejects Pakistan’s petition to issue red warrant

The convention had approached interpol asking it to issue red warrant against Dar that has been absconding corruption cases since 2017. But, interpol has resisted the ministry’s request, and it has awarded the PML-N pioneer a clean chit.

According to the announcement issued by interpol, it assessed evidence filed by Dar and stated that he isn’t subject to’an Interpol Red Notice or’ diffusion’. The former finance minister had claimed that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has forced him into a political goal.

  1. The former finance minister has been absconding case proceedings since 2017.
  2. He is being investigated in a case owing to assets beyond his known source of income.

The interpol has also led its National Central Bureaus (NCBs) to delete all data files in their programs on Dar, local press reported. In addition, it has urged NCBs to upgrade their federal databases so and be sure that the exact same is accomplished by all naitonal entities which have access to interpol info.

Following the Panama Papers revelation, the National Accountability Bureau registered a corruption reference against Dar for due funds beyond his known source of income. The PML-N leader was absconding the courtroom proceeding since 2017 and is presently staying in London.
