Accountability court issues release orders for Maryam Nawaz

An accountability court in Lahore issued Wednesday the release orders for Pakistan Muslim League — Nawaz (PML-N) Vice-President Maryam Nawaz from the Chaudhry Sugar Mills (CSM) case after verifying her surety bonds.

The release order was issued by accountability court Judge Amjad Nazir Chaudhry into the Kot Lakhpat jail superintendent, local media reported. The surety bonds have been filed by guarantors Saiful Malook Khokhar and Faisal Ayub.

After the orders had been issued, judicial staff left for the jail. As soon as the legal proceedings are finished, the release order will be routed to Services Hospital, in which Maryam is now held.

On November 4, the Lahore High Court (LHC) granted bail to Maryam from the CSM case where she was arrested on August 8. A two-member seat of the high court, including Justice Ali Baqar Najafi and Justice Sardar Ahmad Naeem announced the verdict. The seat had arranged the PML-N leader to 2 surety bonds, each worth Rs10 million.
