PM says government committed to protect environment, wildlife

Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the government is dedicated to defend the nation’s environment, wildlife and forests.

Imran Khan said,”Pakistan is a varied nation. It is made of twelve ecological zones from hills to Himalayan forests that are rare on the planet.”

He added,”Rapid increase in population and lack of attention for protection of environment in the past ruined our wildlife and woods.”

He remarked,”This year we’ll launch massive tree plantation drives across Pakistan as the necessary planning and infrastructure, such as nurseries have been established”

The ministry said,”The federal government has embarked upon an ambitious plan of planting billion trees”

The PM maintained the PTI authorities in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chose the first initiative to deal with the climate change by launching the’Billion Tree Tsunami’ job.

He emphasized the initiative was a victory as local individuals took part in planting trees while action was taken action against wood mafia.

Imran Khan mentioned that environmental security will also be made part of syllabus.

He said,”The city planners will need to be conscious of environment protection”

He cautioned that seventy percent of trees in Lahore were cut in ten years that has made it one of the most polluted towns.

He said he’s also impressed with all the forestation that took place in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa within the last five years. He appreciated the assignment and passion of Imran Khan to address the problem of climate change.
