Pakistan to Join New Silk Road Initiative Using Gulf Cooperation Council

Being the major player of China’s ambitious New Silk Road Initiative, Pakistan has said it might link the Chinese initiative towards the total Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

“Pakistan is basically the main corridor to get China. That’s why Gwadar Port has become the center seaport for the Whole BRI [Belt and Road Initiative] and Pakistan Will join the New Silk Road Initiative towards all GCC,” said Samiullah Vohra, Chairman of China Pakistan Economic Corridor Business, said Qatar’s daily The Peninsula.

Speaking about BRI, Vohra said Pakistan’s Gwadar Port will Offer that the major connectivity into Islamic Nations in GCC and Middle East. “The trade activities by the Belt and Road Initiative are extremely huge. The path starts from Xinjiang state and covers the GCC. The major entrance of those Islamic nations in the area starts from Gwadar Port. This interface connects the whole GCC and Middle Eastern nations,” he said.

More than 100 nations and international organisations have given the signal to become part of the Silk Road.
