PIA gets plane under expansion plan

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has inducted the aircraft under its new plan of fleet growth.”PIA has obtained two A320 aircraft dry lease from Aviation Lease and Finance Company,” stated PIA spokesperson Abdullah Hafeez Khan.

“The very first aircraft touched Karachi on Thursday while the next A320 will be sent by the end of the season.”In August, Prime Minister Imran Khan had accepted the purchase of 12 new planes along with the PIA’s present fleet by 2023.

“Airlines at Pakistan are working at 90% occupancy rate and we’re optimistic that after the induction of new planes, the requirement will stay the same,” stated the PIA spokesperson.

“PIA is currently catering to 60 percent of the local need and expects to grow the share together with the accession of new aircraft”Speaking in the coming of A320, PIA Chief Executive Officer Air Marshal Arshad Malik said the airline had intended to incorporate fuel-efficient aircraft into its fleet so as to present new routes and increase the frequency of flights.

He had been of the opinion that the fuel-efficient aircraft wouldn’t just assist in earnings generation and ease passengers but would also aid in improving flight frequency and punctuality. He remarked that the next A320 would arrive in December.
